| GENTLEMEN |

Oscar Wilde was once quoted as saying “Rugby is a game for barbarians played by gentlemen.” Indeed, rugby is a tough and rugged sport, on the field. Sure it`s about offloading your aggression, but acting out in a controlled and responsible fashion. It is played with class and mutual respect. For example, after the match the players leave the pitch, line up to applaud and shake hands, before returning to the clubhouse for camaraderie and drink. There, the losing team is commended for their will and strength and can be heard saying ‘‘we must learn from our mistakes.’’ All in a very gentlemanly fashion and with great sportsmanship.
A game for the heart and for the mind. Rugby is a true gentleman`s game.
