I really do love wearing rugby shirts. In doing so, I like to re-live some of the great moments I have experienced with this amazing sport. But, some of my modern rugby shirts just don`t feel right.  I then sat down with a rugby friend to discuss the matter and looked into the issue more closely. Finally, the decision was taken to make rugby shirts.

We wanted to be very different to conventional “Rugbys,” paying special attention to the material, design, detailed embroidery and colour scheming. We wanted to be genuine. So we undertook some research into past shirt designs, and with the help of real photographs, drawings, newspaper articles, illustrations, books and rugby match programmes, we decided to get to work.

In former years, for example, rugby shirts were made from raw materials which were 100% natural. The cotton yarn, for example, was span in a way to make what is today know as “single jersey” or “double-jersey.” We decided to spin our yarn twice, creating a natural “double jersey” fabric specially developed for Ruggr.  This gives our Shirts an extra rugged appeal and hardwearing look. A difference in quality which can be felt. 

So, here we are launching a new range of authentically British-style quality Rugby Shirts, close to the original. And with some elegant extras to give them that modern touch.
